The launch of new projects in Saudi Arabia to diversify the economy
On Wednesday, King Salman inaugurated more than 600 development projects worth US$4.4 Billion in the Qassim region. He was accompanied on his visit by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. All of the projects are aimed at benefiting a broad range of sectors, including transport, education, roads, environment, water and electricity, public services, housing, and other infrastructure and economic projects within the government sector. These projects will play a significant role in boosting development in the Qassim region.
These projects include several ministries and sectors in all the cities, governorates and towns in the Qassim region, including the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Labor and Social Development and others.
Qassim is the first stop on a tour of several regions of the Kingdom, where King Salman is to launch several health, education and infrastructure projects and initiatives.
The projects in Qasim region are in line to meet the goals under Saudi Vision 2030. Saudi Vision 2030 is a plan to reduce Saudi Arabia’s dependence on oil, diversify its economy, and develop public service sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, recreation and tourism.
